Filming Session #7 (18/11/2016)

In this session, we went to the park to film more lip synching shots and shots with the other artist involved. Things that went well in this session was that we experimented with various different types of shots and angles to make them interesting, we also kept referring back to our animatic in order for our final video to reflect our initial idea. However, what did not go as well in this session is that we were due to film the two artists at a claw machine in the high street, due to the corruption of our footage during our filming session in London, but the machine was not there so we will need to plan to do these shots at a different location.

This shot is for part of a split screen shot we will create in post. However, we feel it went well as a single shot as the lighting is clear and is framed as a mid shot with a blurred out background which creates a hazy effect.

This shot was experimental as we were not sure how it was going to work out as it is not a conventional shot used in music videos. We feel as though it worked as the lighting is clear on the artists' faces and they are clearly identifiable. This shot is unique as it is unusual to use either side of the frame for what the audience is supposed to look at.

Post Production #2

In this editing session we continued to place lip syncing clips to our video and some of our other footage. We followed our animatic as much as we could with what footage we have so far, we replaced the high street shots with footage we filmed in London as we did not plan to do that but our footage from when we filmed there looks good and in a nicer environment than the high street would have been. To improve for next time, we could pay attention to detail and make sure we watch all of our footage in order to select the best clips for our final video.

Post Production #1

In this editing session we put on our song and some lip synching shots. Although we did no have much lip synching footage, we made a start to our video. Whilst doing this we also looked back at some of the other footage we had shot and decided what needed to be re-shot and what we still have left to do.

Filming Session #6 (13/11/2016)

In this session we went back to London as the shots were shaky before, we also applied our 'vlog' style so the camera is deliberately shaky but in order to appear like a video diary of their relationship. We also took a fig rig and tripod to make sure the camera was steady for tracking and static shots. We tried various framing in order to get a variety of shots and so we had enough footage to select the best clips for the final video. However, what did not go well in this session is that our SD card resulted in corruption so the arcade shots we filmed that day were lost. But we filmed some of the bowling shots on a phone to have a vlog effect. We have planned to film the two artists at a claw machine in Sutton high street to give the effect of an arcade.

This shot was filmed using a fig rig to film a steady tracking shot of the two artists walking. We feel it want well as the lighting is neutral and the artists are framed with headroom and followed thorugh on their journey.

This shot is one as part of our 'vlog' style shots with the artist holding out her arm with the camera looking at them. These shots are deliberately shaky to show that the artist is holding it and to look like their filmed memories. We feel this shot went well as it appears in the 'vlog' format and shows the memories they would have had. This made our footage unique as it is a different style, not often seen in music videos.

Star Image Audience Feedback

We sent a survey to people in our target audience of males and females aged 16 to 25 to answer a questionnaire about out star image by providing visuals such as the various costumes the artists will wear and a short video clip of the artist in our music video with a part of the song playing over the top.

Filming Session #5 (11/11/2016)

In this session we re-filmed the silhouette and wave shots to improve from last time by trying different angles and intensities of light to get the best effect. We also filmed out shots of the swing set in the park, bench, sofa, walking and windowsill shots. I think the things that went well during this session is that we got done what we had planned and although we filmed a lot of various shots, we made sure we took our time with each one and experimented with different angles to get more creative shots. In order to make these shots unique, we experimented with the various angles and ways we could present the footage.

We also re-filmed the silhouette and wave projector shots to improve from last time. This time, we used more experimentation in order to get the desired lighting effect. For the wave shot, we used the projector on one side of the artist and an LED light with a blue filter on the other side to eliminate the shadows, but it had a low setting in order for it not to over-expose the projector which would mean it would not be visible anymore. For the silhouette shot, we used an LED light with a clear filter and at full brightness in order for the light to surround the artist so the silhouette is dramatic and clear to the audience.
