Filming Session #4 (04/11/2016)

In our fourth filming session, we filmed the mirror shots and the extreme close up shots. In the mirror shots we paid attention to mise en scene by placing photos of the artist around the mirror with a photo of the 'ex-boyfriend' who appears in the video to make a link between the two in the shot. We also made sure the reflection of the camera could not be seen in the mirror and to focus on the reflection rather than the artist. In the extreme close up shots the mouth is slightly out of focus to give a hazy effect to make it appear more relaxed but still a good quality shot.

To make this shot unique, we used the props of the photographs in order to fit with our genre and spend time on the mise en scene of the shot.

Filming Session #3 (21/10/2016)

The second location we filmed in was a drama room for our silhouette shots. In this session, the things that went well were that we filmed what we had planned and what we shot was of a good quality. However, we are going to reshoot our shots at this location in order to maximise the effect of the silhouette, therefore next time we will try different positions of lights in order to get a more intense final outcome. We also filmed the wave projector shots however we did not get the desired lighting effect as there was a lot of shadow and the movement is not distinctive. From this session we will re-shoot to get the best effective lighting.

To make this shot unique we tried to use the lighting the create a dramatic outline of the artist and to use the wave machine as an effective tool which would make our footage stand out.

Filming Session #2 (20/10/2016)

In this filming session, we filmed the bath shots and they went according to our planning of that shoot. From this, the things that went well were that we took into consideration the mise en scene of the shot and made it appropriate to our genre, we also experimented with the focus for effect in order for there to be a range of dynamics in visuals in our final video. We have made this shot unique as we have used flowers and a bath bomb to focus on the mise en scene and fit in with our indie pop genre.

Filming Session #1 (14/10/2016)

The first location we filmed at was around London and the London Eye. We did not plan to do this as our plan was to film inside the SeaLife Aquarium in London, however, there was an event on the day we went so had to improvise and shoot on the London Eye and around London instead. From this shoot, the things that went well is that we used our initiative to film some other shots even though our planned location was not available. However, most of the shots we took were shaky as we did not take a tripod as we thought a 'vlog' style would add dynamics to the video in the aquarium location, however, due to the unavailability of our original location, without a tripod the shots were shaky and the 'vlog' style would not suit the shots we took in London and the London Eye. Therefore, next time we will take a tripod to whatever location we decide to shoot at, so that even if we are planning the 'vlog' style handheld shots, in vase there is a change of plan, we can still get some acceptable shots that we will be able to use in our final video.
From this filming session, we will need to reshoot the shots around London so they are less shaky by using a tripod for stationary shots and a fig rig for tracking shots. We are also going to shoot aquarium shots so that our final product is as accurate as we planned. We will make sure we take equipment in order to make sure the shots are professional and good quality for use in our final video.

Shooting Schedule

This is our shooting schedule so that we plan out when we shoot, what we need and who needs to be there. This will ensure that we are organised and do not forget anything when we go out to film and that the artists have the right costumes at the right locations.
